Prioritize joy.

I have a client who schedules a concert with her best friend every month. They don’t skip it. Even if the artist isn’t on the top of her list of concerts to see, she makes it a point to go see a show with her friend.

Why be so rigid about something that’s supposed to be fun?

Because she’s busy, because her life is full, because she works a lot, is married, and has a social life. If she didn’t schedule her joy, it might not happen- or not as often as she wants it to.

Sometimes adding a “fun” event to the calendar can make it feel less fun. Less spontaneous.

But if you’re already living a busy life, making sure it happens is ensuring that you don’t let years go by without seeing a great show and spending time with your homies!

If it’s a priority in your life, put it on the calendar.
